Using a System Variable

Follow the instructions below to use a System variable within a task:

When defining a task in a Project, click the

icon next to the attribute in which you want to use a System variable.

A list of variables will be displayed.

Click the System variable to use in the attribute.

Listed below is an example of how the System variable of system.job.workspace is used to indicate the destination directory for files retrieved on a FTP task. The workspace is a system directory created for the job for storing temporary files.

When using a System variable within a Project task, it should be formatted as ${systemvariablename}.
