When you load an Oracle resource, Metadata Manager performs a full metadata load by default. You can configure Metadata Manager to perform loads incrementally after the first successful metadata load.
A full load extracts all metadata objects. An incremental load causes Metadata Manager to load recent changes to the metadata instead of loading complete metadata. Recent changes include the addition of objects, updates to objects, and the deletion of objects since the start of the last successful load. Incremental loading reduces the load time because Metadata Manager extracts fewer objects in an incremental load than it extracts in a full load.
Use the
Incremental load
configuration property to enable or disable incremental loading for an Oracle resource.
Even if you enable incremental loading, a complete metadata load occurs in the following circumstances:
You purge the resource.
You cancel the first load of the resource before the ETL task starts.
