Scheduling the Export and Purge Job Immediately

Scheduling the Export and Purge Job Immediately

When you select the
Schedule Now
option for the export and purge job, Data Archive triggers a Data Privacy Export and Purge job and then opens the
Monitor Jobs
page.
  1. On the
    Monitor Jobs
page, expand the Data Privacy Export and Purge job to view the job steps.
  2. When the "validate" job step is complete, Data Archive pauses the export and purge job. Before you can resume the job, you must review the Data Privacy Validation Report.
  3. Click the
    Review Data Privacy Validation
link in the Validate job step details.
    The
    Review Data Privacy Validation Report
    window opens.
  4. Review the report details. Verify that the index row count matches the actual row count for each record.
  5. To download a .zip file of PDF reports that list the data that the job will export and purge, click the
    View Report
link for each search term. Data Archive generates a PDF report for each table.
  6. To approve or reject the data for export and purge, select a report row or rows and click the
    Approve
    or
    Reject
button at the top of the report. Alternatively, you can click the green checkmark in the
    Action
column to approve the records for export and purge or the red "X" to reject the records for export and purge for each row.
After you approve or reject the records, the status column reflects the action you have taken. If you have not approved or rejected a record, the status remains as "No Action." You must approve or reject each record in the validation report. If you do not approve or reject each record and try to resume the export and purge job, the job fails at the "export" step.
  7. Once you have approved or rejected all of the records in the validation report, return to the
    Monitor Jobs
page and resume the Data Privacy Export and Purge job.
The job proceeds through the remaining steps to export and purge the validated data. During the "export" job step, Data Archive exports the data validated in the "validate" job step. In the job details for the "export" step, you can click the
    View Exported Data
link to download a .zip file that contains the exported data in the specified file format. Once the "export" job step is complete, Data Archive pauses the job. You can validate the exported data before proceeding to the "purge data" step. Resume the job to proceed to the "purge data" step or terminate the job to cancel the operation. During the "purge data" job step, Data Archive both purges the data from the Data Vault and refreshes the indexes that are related to any purged tables. In the "delete report data" job step, Data Archive deletes the data generated in the validation step. The final job step, "refresh materialized views," refreshes the materialized views that are related to the purged tables.
