VSAM Data Maps

VSAM Data Maps

To access nonrelational VSAM data through PowerExchange, add a VSAM data map.
PowerExchange accesses the VSAM data by using SQL, as if the data source were relational.
You can add data maps for the following types of VSAM data sets:
  • Key-sequenced data set (KSDS)
  • Entry-sequenced data set (ESDS)
  • Fixed-length relative record data set (RRDS)
  • Variable-length relative record data set (VRRDS)
These data sets can be in basic format, in extended format, or compressed.
Run a database row test to test a VSAM data map.
