Advanced Parameters Dialog Box (IMS)

Advanced Parameters Dialog Box (IMS)

Enter overrides for a database row test of an IMS data map that uses the DL/1 BATCH or IMS ODBA access method or that accesses an IMS unload file source. You can override the access method and related properties.
Access Method
To override the access method that is specified in the data map, select one of the following options:
  • DL/1 BATCH
    . If the data map specifies the IMS ODBA access method, select this option to use DL/I batch or BMP access to IMS data for the database row test. Also, set the
    Location
    value in the
    Database Row Test
    dialog box to point to the node where the netport job runs.
  • IMS ODBA
    . If the data map specifies the DL/1 BATCH access method, select this option to use IMS ODBA access to IMS data for the database row test. Also, set the
    Location
    value in the
    Database Row Test
    dialog box to point to the node where the PowerExchange Listener runs.
By default, the access method from the data map is initially displayed. To override it, select the other available access method in the list.
If you select the blank row in the list, the database row test uses the access method from the data map. You can still enter any of the other overrides in this dialog box that are valid for that access method.
If you change the access method without also changing the
Location
value, PowerExchange issues one of the following error messages:
  • For DL/1 access:
    PWX-02200 Incorrect environment for DL1 execution. Check NETPORT for server job or executable for client.
  • For ODBA access:
    PWX-02220 ODBA "ALLOCATE" Call Failed RC=00000104 Reason=00001110.
If you switch the access method, ensure that you configured PowerExchange to use the new access method. For more information, see Configuring DL/I Batch or BMP Access to IMS Data and Configuring IMS ODBA Access to IMS Data.
IMS SSID
If you are testing an IMS ODBA data map and did not override the access method, use this value to override the IMS subsystem ID (SSID) from the data map. If you specified IMS ODBA access as an override in the
Access Method
field, you must enter this value. A SSID is required for ODBA access.
If you are testing a data map with an IMS unload file source, use this override to point to another IMSID statement in the DBMOVER member for the purpose of changing from one DBD library to another DBD library. For example, if you have a DL/I data map but want to run the row test against an IMS unload file to reduce queries against the database, enter the database type of
IMSUNLD
, the location of the unload file, and the unload file name in the
Database Row Test
dialog box. Then, in this field, enter the IMS SSID that is associated with the IMSID statement that includes the DBD library you want to use for the IMS unload file.
If you are testing a data map for a NRDB database type and using a BMP netport job, you can use this override with the %IMSID substitution variable in the netport JCL. This override replaces the substitution variable to specify the IMS SSID to use for the row test. By using the override with the substitution variable, you can use the same netport JCL to access multiple IMS environments, such as development, testing, and production environments.
An IMS SSID is not required for DL/I batch access to IMS data or for access to an IMS unload file.
PSB Name
Enter an override IMS PSB name.
If you are testing an ODBA data map and did not override the access method, this value overrides the PSB name from the data map. If you specified
IMS ODBA
as an override in the
Access Method
field, you must enter this value. A PSB name is required for ODBA access. By using this override, you can use the same data map to test access to different PSBs.
If you are testing a DL/I batch or BMP data map and specified the PSB=%PSBNAME substitution variable in the netport JCL, this value overrides the PSB name in the JCL. If you specified the PSB=%1 substitution variable instead of %PSBNAME in the netport JCL, the row test uses the PSB name in the NETPORT statement, if specified. Informatica recommends using this override with %PSBNAME substitution variable to avoid editing or adding NETPORT statements and restarting the PowerExchange Listener.
A PSB name is not used for access to an IMS unload file (IMSUNLD dabase type).
PCB Number
Enter an override PCB number. This field is available only for DL/I or BMP access to the IMS data.
If you are testing a DL/I batch or BMP data map and did not override the access method, this value overrides the PCB number from the data map. If you specified
DL/1 BATCH
as an override in the
Access Method
field, you must enter this value. A PCB number is required for DL/I or BMP access.
A PCB number is not used for ODBA access or for access to an IMS unload file (IMSUNLD database type).
PCB Name
Enter an override IMS PCB name. The PCB name is available only for ODBA access to IMS data.
If you are testing an IMS ODBA data map for the source and did not override the access method, this value overrides the PCB name from the data map. If you specified
IMS ODBA
as an override in the
Access Method
field, you must enter this value. A PCB name is required for ODBA access.
A PCB name is not used for DL/I batch or BMP access or for access to an IMS unload file (IMSUNLD dabase type).
