Editing Logon Information for Accessing Data Maps and Data

Editing Logon Information for Accessing Data Maps and Data

You can edit the user credentials for logging in to a remote system to access a data map or data.
  1. Open the data map.
  2. Click
    Resource > Logons
    .
  3. In the
    Data Map Logons
dialog box, enter credentials for logging in to a remote system to access a data map and data.
The following table describes the information to enter:
    Option
    Description
    Location
Select the location of the data source. Select
    local
if the data source is on the PowerExchange Navigator system.
This field lists the locations that are defined by NODE statements in the dbmover.cfg configuration file on the PowerExchange Navigator system.
    Default is
    local
    .
    Data Map Logon
Enter the following credentials for accessing the data map:
    • UserID
. Enter the database user ID to access the data source, if required.
For databases on supported Linux, UNIX, or Windows systems, if you have enabled PowerExchange LDAP user authentication and, if applicable, disabled relational pass-through authentication, the user name is the enterprise user name. For more information, see the
      PowerExchange Reference Manual
      .
    • Password
. Enter a password for the user ID, if specified.
For access to data maps on an i5/OS or z/OS system, you can enter a valid PowerExchange passphrase instead of a password. An i5/OS passphrase can be from 9 to 31 characters in length. A z/OS passphrase can be from 9 to 128 characters in length. A passphrase can contain the following characters:
      • Uppercase and lowercase letters
      • The numbers 0 to 9
      • Spaces
      • The following special characters:
        ’ - ; # \ , . / ! % & * ( ) _ + { } : @ | < > ?
The first character is an apostrophe.
Passphrases cannot include single quotation marks (‘), double quotation marks (“), or currency symbols.
On z/OS, the allowable characters in the IBM IRRPHREX exit do not affect the allowable characters in PowerExchange passphrases.
On z/OS, a valid RACF passphrase can be up to 100 characters in length. PowerExchange truncates passphrases longer than 100 characters when passing them to RACF for validation.
To use passphrases, ensure that the PowerExchange Listener runs with a security setting of SECURITY=(1,N) or higher in the DBMOVER member. For more information, see "SECURITY Statement" in the
      PowerExchange Reference Manual
      .
    • File Password
. For Adabas, if the FDT file is password-protected, enter the password to access the file.
    Data Access Logon
Enter the following credentials for accessing the data source:
    • UserID
. For z/OS, enter the database user ID to access the data source, if required.
    • Password
. For z/OS, required. Enter a password for the user ID.

      .
You must enter credentials for both the
    Data Map Logon
    and
    Data Access Logon
, even if the logon user IDs and passwords are the same. On z/OS, different users can own the data maps and actual data.
Allow logons to be changed next time they are required
Select this option to prompt for credentials again before proceeding with the next requested function.
