Step 1. Create an ATL COM AppWizard Project

Step 1. Create an ATL COM AppWizard Project

  1. Launch Visual C++ and click File > New.
  2. In the dialog box that appears, select the Projects tab.
  3. Enter the project name and location.
    In the BankSoft example, you enter
    COM_VC_Banksoft
    as the project name, and
    c:\COM_VC_Banksoft
    as the directory.
  4. Select the
    ATL COM AppWizard
    option in the projects list box and click OK.
    A wizard used to create COM projects in Visual C++ appears.
  5. Set the Server Type to Dynamic Link Library, select the
    Support MFC
    option, and click Finish.
    The final page of the wizard appears.
  6. Click OK to return to Visual C++.
  7. Add a class to the new project.
  8. On the next page of the wizard, click the OK button. The Developer Studio creates the basic project files.
