Business Entity Relationships

A relationship is a connection between two business entities. In

Data Director

with business entities, you can create hierarchy relationships and network relationships between business entities.

hierarchy relationship: A hierarchy relationship is a connection between two business entity records that is hierarchical. For example, the Informatica business entity the parent of the John Smith business entity.
network relationship: A network relationship is a connection between two related business entity records. For example, the John Smith record is related to the PX100 Keyboard record.

You use the

Hierarchy

tab in the entity tab to investigate hierarchy relationships for a record. You use the

Network

tab in the entity tab to investigate network relationships for a record.

The MDM administrator configures relationships between business entities. You can create relationships between records based on the relationships between business entities.
