Configuring the Root to Child Lookup

Configuring the Root to Child Lookup

The instructions explain how to configure the root to child look up when you have a business entity as a
person
having the
person_party
as root and with the
electronic address
as the child field.
  1. Add a new field to Party Base Object through the MDM Hub console.
    1. Launch Hub Console.
    2. Select any Operational Reference Store (ORS).
    3. Navigate to the Schema from the Model.
    4. Expand the Party Base Object
    5. Click
      Columns
      Acquire Write Lock
    6. Add a new field.
      For instance, add a new field called
      person_email
      .
      The following diagram shows a sample field creation:
       The image shows the Schema Model selected under Workbench. On the Schema section under Party, the Columns option is selected. Under the Party Columns, a new field is entered for the Person_email with the nullable option selected, varchar data type, and length as 50.
  2. Establish a relationship from the
    person_email
    to
    Electronic Address
    in the Party Electronic Address Base Object.
    1. Under Relationships, select
      Option
      Acquire Write Lock
      .
    2. Click the
      Add
      icon.
      The Add relationship dialog appears.
    3. From the Relate From panel, select
      person_email
      .
    4. From the Relate To panel, go to
      Party_Electronic_Address
      rowID Object
      .
      The following image shows how you can add the relationship:
       The image shows the Find pane where the Party has Relationships selected. Under the Party Relationships, the Add Relationship dialog appears. Under the Relate from section, the Person_Email is selected. Under the Relate to section, the Party Electronic Address appears with the Rowid Object selection.
    5. Click
      OK
      .
    6. Select
      Release Write Lock
      .
    7. Run the met validation.
      The following validation image indicates the relationship created:
      The image shows the Properties tab. Under the Table references section, you can see the following text: Foreign Key from "Party (Person_Email)" to "Party Electronic Address (Rowid Object)" (Restrict) [Virtual].
  3. To reflect these changes in the Provisioning, create a new lookup and enable the Sibling Lookup option.
    1. Launch the Provisioning tool.
    2. Select the Operational Reference Store (ORS).
    3. Go to
      Modelling
      Business Entities
      .
    4. Expand the root level lookup field folder from the middle panel.
    5. Create a new lookup.
    6. Enter the Sibling lookup name and label.
    7. Enable the Sibling Lookup.
      The following image shows how to enable the sibling reference:
       The image shows that under Modelling, select the Business Entities. Under Person, the Phone folder appears. Under the Lookup fields, there is a Primary Phone folder. Under the Primary Phone section, the name and label is Primary phone. The sibling reference is selected. Object has the value as phone. Constraint is updated. The Lookup Display field is phoneNum.
    8. Go to
      Objects
      Select Emails
      .
    9. On the Lookup display fields, go to
      Select Electronic Address
      Apply Changes
      .
    10. Publish the changes.
  4. Log into Entity 360 to use the Sibling Configuration with the magnifying glass icon as seen in the following screenshot:
     The image shows the business entity. On the Overview section, the primary phone is updated and appears with the magnifying glass and delete icons. The primary email appears without any value but appears with the magnifying glass and delete icons.
  5. Click on the magnifying glass icon to see the list of email IDs created for a specific person.

     The image shows the New Person record where the PersonView contains the Person_Email option with the magnifying glass icon and the delete icon next to it. Under the Emails section, you can view the email record with the following columns, such as electronic address, Is Valid Ind, Electronic Address Type, Opt in Ind, along with the edit and delete icons.
  6. Select one the emails added and click
    OK
    .
    In the example, since you selected the Lookup display field as Email Address in Provisioning, the value displayed in the
    Person_Email
    field is
    email1@gmail.com
    as seen in the following image:
     The image shows the New Person record where the PersonView contains the Person_Email option associated with the email1@gmail.com records. If you navigate to the Emails section, you can view the email info with the required values.
