Cognos SDK

Cognos SDK

To extract schema and reports metadata from Cognos metadata source files, the Cognos resource uses the Java libraries in the
MIMB_HOME/java/CognosRepository
location.
Starting with Cognos version 10.2.x, the Java libraries are no longer mixed-version compatible. Therefore, the version of Java libraries must match the Cognos server version. If the Cognos server version does not support the default libraries, replace the Java libraries.
To replace and use the supported Java libraries in a Cognos resource configuration, perform the following steps:
  1. Download the
    IBM Cognos Software Development Kit
software package from the IBM web site. Make sure that you select the version that matches the Cognos server. For example, 11.0.5.
  2. Install the Cognos SDK software package on the machine where the Cognos server runs.
  3. Locate the Java libraries in the SDK. For example, the Java libraries might be located in
    /ibm/cognos/sdk/sdk/java/lib
    location.
  4. In Metadata Manager, when you create or edit a Cognos resource, enter the Java libraries location in the
    Cognos SDK directory
    field.
