ERwin 9.x (Single Model from Mart) Configuration Properties

ERwin 9.x (Single Model from Mart) Configuration Properties

Update the configuration properties when you create or edit an ERwin 9.x (Single Model from Mart) resource.
The following table describes the configuration properties:
Property
Description
Agent URL
Host name and port number of the Metadata Manager Agent.
Source system version
Version of ERwin that you used to export the metadata source file or the version of the ERwin Data Modeler to which you want to connect.
Server name
Name of the Mart server to which you want to connect, for example,
localhost
.
Server port
Network port number for the Mart server.
Use IIS
Type of connection to the Mart server if it uses Microsoft IIS web server. Specify one of the following values:
  • True. The Metadata Manager Agent uses IIS to connect to the Mart server.
  • False. The Metadata Manager Agent uses the port number to connect to the Mart server.
Default is false.
Use SSL
Type of connection to the Mart server. Specify one of the following values:
  • True. The Metadata Manager Agent uses a secure connection to the Mart server.
  • False. The Metadata Manager Agent uses a standard HTTP connection.
Default is false.
Application name
Name of the application on the Mart server to which you want to connect.
Authentication
Type of authentication to use for the ERwin Data Modeler user name and password. Select one of the following options:
  • Database authentication. Use native database authentication to authenticate the user name and password.
  • Windows authentication. Use Windows authentication for the database user name and password. Use this option for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
Default is database authentication.
User name
Database user name for ERwin Data Modeler.
Leave this field blank if you use Windows authentication.
Password
Password for the ERwin Data Modeler user name.
Leave this field blank if you use Windows authentication.
Model
Model locator string for ERwin Data Modeler. Use the following format for Microsoft SQL Server:
mmart://<database name>/<path>/<model name>
Use the following format for Oracle:
mmart://<path>/<model name>
The model path is case sensitive. Specify the correct value based on the model path used in CA ERwin Data Modeler.
Import UDPs
Specifies how the Metadata Manager Agent imports property definitions and values for user-defined properties (UDPs) from ERwin. In ERwin, a user-defined property is a property definition object that has a default value. The object to which the UDP applies can have an explicit value or no assigned value. If it has no assigned value, ERwin assigns the default value of the property definition to the UDP.
Select one of the following options to specify how to import property definitions and values:
  • As metadata. Imports explicit values as Property Value objects. This option keeps the default value on the Property Type. Implicit values are not imported.
  • As metadata, migrate default values. Imports explicit and implicit values as Property Value objects.
  • In description, migrate default values. Appends the property name and value to the object description property, for explicit and implicit values.
  • Both, migrate default values. Imports the UDP value as metadata and in the object description.
Import relationship name
Specifies how to import the relationship names from ERwin. Select one of the following options:
  • From relationship name. Use the relationship name property.
  • From relationship description. Use the relationship description property. Use this option to give more descriptive names to relationships.
Default is from relationship name.
Import column order from
Specifies how to import the order of columns in tables. Specify one of the following values:
  • Column order. Imports based on the order of the columns displayed in the ERwin physical view.
  • Physical order. Imports based on the order of the columns in the database, as generated in the SQL DLL.
Default is physical order.
Import owner schemas
Imports owner schemas. Specify one of the following values:
  • True. Imports the owner schema for tables, views, and other database objects
  • False. Ignores the owner schema for all database objects.
Default is true.
Import diagrams
Specifies how the Metadata Manager Agent imports diagrams. Specify one of the following values:
  • None. The Metadata Manager Agent imports no diagrams.
  • Current view. The Metadata Manager Agent imports the current view of each diagram.
  • All. The Metadata Manager Agent imports diagrams twice, once for the logical view and once for the physical view.
Default is current view.
Move entities to subject areas
Specifies whether to move entities to user-defined subject areas. Set this option to true if the ERwin modeler uses subject areas as conventional (UML) design packages with their own namespace and if each entity belongs to one subject area.
Specify one of the following values:
  • True. The Metadata Manager Agent places the entities in the corresponding package. It places other entities under the model.
  • False. The Metadata Manager Agent does not move entities to subject areas.
Default is false.
Auto assign connections
The Metadata Manager Agent configures connection assignments to relational database resource types during the resource load. If you disable this option, you must configure connection assignments in the resource properties after you create the resource.
