Managing Resources Overview

Managing Resources Overview

After you create resources, you can configure resources and manage metadata for a resource. To edit a resource, select the resource in the
Resources
panel of the
Load
tab and click
Edit
.
You can perform the following tasks for resources:
Configure connection assignments.
Configure connection assignments so that you can run data lineage analysis across metadata sources. You can configure connections from one packaged or universal resource to another packaged or universal resource.
Upload rule sets.
Upload rule sets so that you can run data lineage analysis across metadata sources that include a custom or business glossary resource. Metadata Manager uses the rule sets to link a custom resource or business glossary resource to another resource.
Purge metadata for a resource.
Delete resource metadata from the Metadata Manager warehouse.
Refresh the resource list.
Update the list of resources in the
Load
page.
Update a search index.
Manually update the search index if indexing fails during a resource load, if you change the Metadata Manager file location in the Administrator tool, or if you update the list of words to ignore in searches.
