If you did not update the values of custom attributes or business names in the source environment, skip this step.

When you import the Excel file into the target repository, Metadata Manager imports the custom attribute and business name values. Custom attributes are also called custom properties.

For example, in a development environment, you updated the Business Name property for most objects in a packaged resource. You want to migrate the business names to the production environment. Export the resource metadata to an Excel file and include the custom attributes and business names. When you import the Excel file in the target environment, Metadata Manager imports the business name values for the objects in the resource.

Export and import resource metadata between Metadata Manager repositories with the same version. You cannot import resource metadata from a different version.
