The duplicate records management process includes identifying and merging duplicate records. You can run the duplicate check batch jobs to identify duplicate records. You can then run the merge batch job to merge the duplicate records based on the merge rules that you configure in the merge settings.
The duplicate check batch jobs use the following custom settings:
Matching Settings
Match Score Weighting
Null Scores
Matching and Duplicate Thresholds
Performance Settings
The duplicate check jobs compare the beans and the master bean of accounts, contacts, and leads to identify the duplicate records. The job stores the duplicate records in the Duplicates table.
After you identify the duplicate records, you can merge the records. Run the merge job to merge the duplicate records. The merge job eliminates the duplicate records and retains the master record based on the merge rules that you configure in the merge settings. You can toggle the master ID to select which record ID in the pair the merge job retains.
