Dynamic mapping tasks

Use a
dynamic mapping
task to create and batch multiple jobs based on the same mapping.
A
dynamic mapping
task reduces the number of assets that you need to manage if you want to reuse a parameterized mapping. Instead of creating multiple mapping tasks, you can configure multiple jobs based on the same mapping in one task. Each job can have a different set of parameter values. You can also organize jobs in groups to batch jobs together and set the job run order.
When you create a
dynamic mapping
task, you select the mapping to use. The mapping that you select must contain at least one parameter. Don't use a mapping that contains field mapping parameters for hierarchical data. When you configure the task, you configure the value and scope of each parameter for each job.
Dynamic mapping tasks with a real-time source might delay the completion of other jobs in the same group or subsequent groups. To avoid delayed jobs, use a mapping task for the following scenarios:
  • Change data capture
  • Real-time streaming sources, like Kafka
  • Salesforce connections configured for continuous change data capture
You cannot use CLAIRE tuning with a
dynamic mapping
task.
