Repository Migration Overview

Repository Migration Overview

You can migrate the Metadata Manager repository between domains. You might want to migrate the repository when you move from a development environment to a production environment.
When you migrate the repository, you back up the repository contents in the old domain and restore them to the repository in the new domain. You use the mmRepoCmd command line program to back up and restore the repository. The steps that you perform to migrate the repository differ based on whether the old domain and the new domain use the same domain names and encryption keys.
To ensure that you can recover the repository if you encounter problems during migration, back up the old repository before you begin the migration process.
For more information about the mmRepoCmd command line program, see the
Metadata Manager Command Reference
