Resource Migration Overview

Resource Migration Overview

You can migrate packaged and universal resources between Metadata Manager instances. You might migrate resources when you move from a development to a production environment. Migrate resources so that you do not have to re-create them in the target environment.
The steps that you use to migrate resources vary based on whether you migrate a packaged resource or a universal resource and whether the resource uses custom classes, rule sets, custom class attributes, or business names.
The information in this chapter applies to migrating packaged and universal resources within the current Metadata Manager version. To migrate resources from a previous version of Metadata Manager to the current version, use the rmu or rcfmu command line program. For information about migrating custom resources, see the
Metadata Manager Custom Metadata Integration Guide
