Importing a Packaged or Universal Model

Importing a Packaged or Universal Model

When you import a packaged or universal model, Metadata Manager imports the custom class attributes. If you import a model export .zip file, Metadata Manager also imports the rule set definitions.
You cannot import a Business Glossary model in Metadata Manager. To import business glossary assets and templates, use the Analyst tool.
  1. On the
    Model
    tab, click
    Actions
    Import Model
    .
    The
    Import Model
    window appears.
  2. Select the .xml or .zip file that contains the model that you want to import.
  3. Click
    Next
    .
  4. Select the model that you want to import, and click
    Next
    .
The wizard analyzes the file and validates it against the models in the Metadata Manager repository. The wizard lists the new and changed classes that Metadata Manager will create or update. The wizard also lists the unchanged classes that Metadata Manager will not reimport.
  5. Click
    Import
to import the class attributes and rule set definitions.
