Step 2. Migrate the Model

Step 2. Migrate the Model

If you added custom class attributes to the model in the source environment or if the model has associated rule set definitions, you must migrate the model. To migrate a model, you export the model from the source repository and import it into the target repository.
If you did not add custom class attributes to the model in the source environment, skip this step.
When you migrate a model, you export the model from the source Metadata Manager repository to a file. The model export file contains all the classes, attributes, and relationships for the model.
When you import a packaged or universal model into the target repository, Metadata Manager analyzes the contents of the model export file and compares it to the existing models. Metadata Manager imports the new and changed classes.
