Manually Creating an Account Hierarchy

You can create a hierarchy during and after initial data load. To create a hierarchy during initial data load, assign the appropriate parent account value. You must start with the root node and then load the hierarchy one level at a time. To create a hierarchy after initial data load, load all the records without parent account values.

If you create the hierarchy during the initial data load, start with the top hierarchy level and then one hierarchy level at a time. Load one hierarchy level at a time until you reach the bottom hierarchy level.

Creating After Initial Data Load

Load all the records without parent account values. After you load all the data, use an external tool such as Informatica Cloud Services to populate the parent account values.

Use this method to avoid asynchronous hierarchy processing when you create the hierarchy. Start with the root node at the top hierarchy level and then populate the values one hierarchy level at a time.
