Importing Column Definitions From Another Table

You can import some of the column definitions from another table.

Navigate to the column editor for the table that you want to configure.

Acquire a write lock.

Click the

Import Schema

button.

The Import Schema dialog box opens.

Specify the connection properties for the schema that you want to import.

If you need more information about the connection information to specify here, contact your database administrator.

For IBM DB2 environments, the settings for the user name and password fields depend on whether proxy users are configured for the MDM Hub implementation.

If proxy users are not configured, then the user name is the same as the schema name.

If proxy users are configured, specify the custom user name and password.

The database you enter does not need to be the same as the

Operational Reference Store

that you are currently working in, nor does it need to be an

Operational Reference Store

The only restriction is that you cannot import from a relational database that is a different type from the one in which you are currently working. For example, if your database is an Oracle database, then you can import columns only from another Oracle database.

The Schema Manager displays a list of the tables that are available for import.

Select that table that you want to import.

Click

The Schema Manager displays a list of columns for the selected table.

Select the columns you want to import.

Click

Finish

Click

Save
