Informatica Platform Mapping Examples Overview

Informatica Platform Mapping Examples Overview

The Informatica platform mapping examples show and describe mappings to cleanse and standardize source data. The mapping examples are based on the data available in the MDM Hub sample Operational Reference Store (ORS) that is included in the MDM Hub Resource Kit. The mappings in the MDM Hub sample ORS are created in the MDM Hub Mappings tool.
Each mapping example describes a mapping that is defined in the MDM Hub Mappings tool, and a mapping that you define in Informatica Developer (the Developer tool). Both mappings in each example achieve the same functional results. You use the same sample input data for both types of mapping. You can cleanse and standardize source data with the use of either type of mapping.
Each example describes the mapping objects that are part of the data cleanse and standardization operations. The mappings that are defined in the MDM Hub are between the landing table and the staging table in the MDM Hub environment. Before you cleanse and standardize data, you must load the data into the landing tables through an ETL process. The Developer tool mappings are directly between the source data and a logical data object that writes to the target staging tables in the MDM Hub.
