Data Cleansing Configuration Overview

Data Cleansing Configuration Overview

You can configure data cleansing to cleanse and standardize data during the stage process. If you run the stage process in the
MDM Hub
, you can configure data cleansing in the
MDM Hub
. If you run the stage process in Informatica platform, you can configure data cleansing in the Developer tool.
Before you perform data cleansing in the
MDM Hub
, install and configure the cleanse engines. Also, you need to configure a
Process Server
for the
MDM Hub
implementation. The Process Server is a servlet that cleanses data and processes batch jobs. You can configure cleanse functions that standardize or verify data values in a record.
To perform data cleansing in Informatica platform, install and configure the Data Integration Service, the Model Repository Service, and Informatica Developer (the Developer tool). To cleanse source data before transferring it to the
MDM Hub
staging table, add transformations to the mapplet or the mappings that you create.
When you run matching on cleansed data, the
MDM Hub
generates a greater number of reliable matches.
