Teradata Load Settings

Teradata Load Settings

On the
Runtime Settings
tab >
Teradata Load Settings
view, you can configure data load settings for Teradata targets.
The following table describes the fields in this view:
Field
Description
Default
Teradata Load Utilities in Indicator mode
If you selected the
Binary length prefix
option, indicates whether to set the indicator bits in the binary output for column values that contain NULL data.
Selected
Use Teradata Parallel Transporter (TPT)
Indicates whether Fast Clone uses Teradata Parallel Transporter to load the source data to the target database. Select this option, if you use Teradata Direct DataStream.
Selected
Loader to be used
The Teradata loader type that Fast Clone uses to import unloaded data into Teradata. Fast Clone supports the Teradata FastLoad utility, MultiLoad utility, and Parallel Data Pump. Fast Clone generates the appropriate control input for the utility type.
Parallel Data Pump is available only if you select the
Use Teradata Parallel Transporter
option.
Teradata FastLoad
Teradata Load Sessions
The number of sessions that Teradata FastLoad or MultiLoad opens to load the source data to each target table.
2
Binary length prefix
Indicates whether to unload source data in the binary format. Each record in the binary format includes a 2-byte field that indicates the total length of the record, optional bytes for null values, and the data.
Not selected
Binary length prefix endianness
If you selected the
Binary length prefix
option, specify the endianness of the binary output. This parameter determines the format of the integer that specifies the length of records and fields in the binary files. Options are: LITTLE ENDIAN and BIG ENDIAN.
LITTLE ENDIAN
Use Teradata Direct DataStream
Select this option to have DataStreamer call TPT to load the source data to the target database directly. DataStreamer uses the loader that is specified in the
Loader to be used
list.
Not selected
Drop and rebuild tables in Teradata prior to load
Select this option if you want DataStreamer to drop and re-create the Teradata tables before loading the source data into the tables.
Not selected
Skip writing the output data into files
Select this option to skip writing the unloaded data to output files or a pipe.
If you selected the option to use DataStreamer, this option is also selected.
If you do not use DataStreamer, you can select this option for troubleshooting purposes.
Not selected
Max errors
If you use DataStreamer, the maximum number of errors that can occur when streaming data to a Teradata target. If the number of errors exceeds this maximum, DataStreamer ends with an error.
