Defining Rules for Replacing Character Sequences in Data

You can define rules for replacing particular character sequences in the source data with another character sequence. If the source data includes character sequences that the target load utility does not support, define replacement rules to conform to the format requirements of the target load utility.
  1. On the
    Runtime Settings
    tab >
    Format Settings
    view, click
    Replace any char with
    .
    Alternatively, click
    Data
    Manage replacements on fly
    on the menu bar.
    The
    Replace characters
    dialog box appears, as shown in the following image:
  2. Click
    Add
    to add a replacement rule.
    The
    New Character Replacement
    dialog box appears, as shown in the following image:
  3. Enter appropriate values in the
    Replace from
    and
    Replace with
    fields and click
    Save
    .
    You can use non-printable characters to specify character sequences.
  4. Click
    Ok
    to save all of the replacement rules.
    Click
    Edit
    to edit an existing replacement rule. Click
    Delete
    to delete an existing replacement rule.
