Column Indexing for Data Privacy Searches

Column Indexing for Data Privacy Searches

Before you can run a Data Privacy search on data archived to the Data Vault, you must index the columns that you want to include in the search. You can manually mark the columns for indexing in Enterprise Data Manager. Or if you want to index a large number of columns, you can run the Export Index Metadata and Import Index Metadata jobs.
After you mark the necessary columns for indexing, run either the Create Indexes on Data Vault or the Re Index on Data Vault standalone job.
Run the Re Index on Data Vault standalone job if one of the following conditions is true:
  • On Data Archive 6.4.4, you indexed the tables before you applied EBF 12307.
  • On Data Archive 6.4.4, you ran update jobs, such as retention, legal hold, tagging, or purge jobs, on a table that was previously indexed.
  • You archived additional data to the same Data Vault folder since you last indexed the table columns.
For more information about the Create Indexes on Data Vault and the Re Index on Data Vault standalone jobs, see the
Data Archive Administrator Guide
