Indexing a Large Number of Columns for Search

Indexing a Large Number of Columns for Search

If you want to index a large number of columns for a Data Privacy search, you can export a metadata CSV file from the Enterprise Data Manager and quickly mark which columns you want to index. Then, import the metadata file to update the indexing.
  1. In the Enterprise Data Manager, click the
    Constraints
    tab.
  2. Right-click the application version that you want to index for search.
  3. Select
    Export Index Metadata
    .
You receive a message that a background job will be submitted.
  4. Click OK
    .
Data Archive triggers the Export Index Metadata job.
  5. In Data Archive, click
    Jobs
    Monitor Jobs
    .
  6. When the job completes successfully, expand the job details and click the
    Index Columns
link to download the metadata file.
  7. Open the CSV metadata file. In the last column of the file, the QUICK_SEARCH_INDEX column, mark each column that you want to index for search with Y and columns that you do not want to index with N.
  8. Save the metadata file.
  9. In the Enterprise Data Manager, right-click the application version and select
    Import Index Metadata
    .
  10. Enter the location of the metadata file and click
    OK
    .
Data Archive triggers an Import Index Metadata job that you can monitor from the
    Monitor Jobs
    page.
  11. Run the Create Indexes on Data Vault or Re Index on Data Vault standalone job to update the index. For more information on these jobs, see the
    Data Archive Administrator Guide
