Step 2. Configure the Source Connection

Step 2. Configure the Source Connection

Before you archive or retire external attachments, configure source connection properties.
  1. Create or update the source connection.
    • To create a connection, click
      Administration > New Source Connection
      .
    • To update a connection, click
      Administration > Manage Connections
      .
  2. In the source connection, configure the following properties:
    • Source/Staging Attachment Location.
      Source location of the external attachments. Enter the directory where the attachments are stored on the production server. You must have read access on the directory.
    • Target Attachment Location.
      Target location for the external attachments. Enter the archive folder where you want to archive the external attachments. You must have write access on the directory.
  3. If the attachments are encrypted, enter the location of the temporary folder you designated for the decryption script in the
    Staging Script Location
    field.
  4. If you want to move the attachments to the interim attachment table during the archive or retirement job run, select
    Move Attachments in Synchronous Mode
    .
