Hierarchical data in advanced mode

Hierarchical data in advanced mode

In advanced mode, you can use hierarchical fields that represent an array, map, or struct.
You can use hierarchical fields as pass-through fields. You can also use hierarchical fields in an expression or use a hierarchical field with a complex operator to access primitive child fields in the expression. For more information about complex operators, see

Consider the following guidelines when you use hierarchical fields in an expression:
  • Do not use a parameter for the expression.
  • The output of an expression cannot be an array, map, or struct.
